Discover the Eastern Townships and Magog through the eyes of the people who live here! A few members of our teams at Versō Hotel and Kóz Bistro are sharing their favourite spots you absolutely should not miss during your stay with us.
Charles, Attendant and Front Desk Agent
Having worked at Versō Hotel for the past four years and being a Magog local himself, Charles recommends D-Vert, an indoor climbing centre where you can enjoy the sport no matter the weather. For a fun and lesser-known activity, he suggests trying an escape room at Amédaka Évasion. And when the weather is nice, it’s all about heading to Mount Orford and Plage des Cantons, of course!
Luc, Maître d’Hôtel at Kóz Bistro
Summer is made for cruising the calm waters of Lake Memphremagog with Escapades Memphrémagog, located just a few minutes’ walk from the restaurant! Luc especially enjoys the Bubbly Hour (happy hour-style) cruise, when the golden light reflects beautifully over the lake and surrounding scenery. During the day, he recommends hiking the panoramic trail at Owl’s Head for breathtaking views.

Éric, Concierge and Front Desk Agent
In general, if you need activity ideas, our amazing Éric is the person to ask! Being a true foodie with impressive experience in the tourism industry, he’s always full of great recommendations. If you’ve already visited Magog before, he suggests exploring the nearby town of Eastman, located just a short drive from the hotel. Among his favourite spots are the lakeside trail, Café Bowen, Café La Station and Pâtisserie Dorville.
Véronique A., Accommodation Manager
An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Véronique recommends trying water activities right next to the hotel. Did you know you can go paddleboarding on Lake Memphremagog? Afterwards, head over to the Rivière-aux-Cerises marsh to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities (equipment rentals are available through Vie de plein air, if needed!) End the day with a latte from local coffee roaster Géogène, served on the beautiful terrace at Ratatouille.

Lysandre, Supervisor at Kóz Bistro
A stop at Cherry River distillery is a must! Then head to Saint-Benoît-du-Lac abbey to stock up on cheese and other local products, and in autumn, to pick apples. Along the way, keep the shopping going: stop by Savonnerie des Diligences in Bolton and grab some fresh bagels at Fabrique de bagels Café Noir.

Véronique M., Head Server at Kóz Bistro
Véronique recommends renting a jet ski at the Magog marina for exploring Lake Memphremagog at your own pace. Another beautiful body of water worth discovering is Lake Stukely beach, located inside Mont-Orford National Park. It’s such a peaceful and scenic spot! You can also enjoy kayaking and hiking all around the lake.
Didier, Bartender at Kóz Bistro
This avid sports enthusiast is all about outdoor adventures. Among his favourite activities, there are hiking at the Rivière-aux-Cerises marsh, biking along La Montagnarde cycling path, enjoying Arbre Aventure at Mont-Orford, and checking out Magog’s brand-new skate park located right at Pointe Merry, just steps away from Kóz. In the evening, he likes to unwind at the Ciné-Parc Orford, and the next day, to soothe sore muscles, he visits beautiful Spa Nordic Station, why not!?
