The sun sets earlier and the air is turning crisp: it’s time to say goodbye to summer and step into the magic of fall. The Eastern Townships are the perfect place to enjoy all the small and big pleasures of the season.
Here’s why you should treat yourself to a getaway at Versō Hotel to visit Magog and its surroundings in September or October.
The colours
Because the Eastern Townships are surrounded by wide green spaces and mountains, the time when the leaves change colours is inevitably spectacular.
Every weekend from September 12 to October 13, 2025, Magog-Orford hosts La Flambée des couleurs, a major fall festival featuring activities designed to admire the brilliant foliage.
For example, head to the Rivière-aux-Cerises marsh for a hike along beautiful, well-marked trails. You can also enjoy the brand-new permanent exhibition Momenti – Discover the Marsh in a Different Way.
At Mont-Orford National Park, ride the trails by bike while the weather is still nice. Pedal through the forest and take in the autumn beauty with every turn.
Want to see the reds, yellows, and oranges from above? Treat yourself to a helicopter tour flying over the Eastern Townships. Hurry, this is a very popular activity that fills up quickly!

The harvest
As summer comes to an end, the fields are full to the brim! There are many ways to savour the abundance before the colder months arrive for good.
La Fête des Vendanges kicks things off. On August 30 and 31 and September 1, 6 and 7, head to Pointe Merry in Magog to meet over 75 passionate producers eager to share their products. Wines, spirits, beers, ciders, cheeses, and other delights take centre stage during this delicious festival.
Next comes another much-anticipated foodie event: La Grande Coulée. From September 12 to 14 at Mont-Orford, this beer festival brings together talented brewers from across the province in one spot. Kids are welcome and will love the chairlift ride, offering a breathtaking view of the colourful treetops.
Every Sunday until October 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Magog Public Market takes place at Plage des Cantons. Local farmers and artisans gather to showcase fresh fruit, vegetables, and a variety of beautiful handcrafted goods. Children can enjoy the playground and live music performances.
It’s also the perfect time to go for some pick-your-own fun. Visit La Ferme Potagère in Magog to pick pumpkins and squash, or stop by Saint-Benoît-du-Lac Abbey in Austin to gather crisp apples.
And if you’re passing through Dunham, don’t miss Domaine de Dunham. At its stand, you’ll find freshly picked pears, peaches, and juicy nectarines.

From September 12 to 14, the Rendez-vous du roman historique de Magog takes place at Maison Merry. Book lovers won’t want to miss this event featuring conferences, writing workshops, readings, and lively discussions.
Fall is the perfect season for relaxation, which is why a visit to Spa Nordic Station is a must. Just a 5-minute drive from downtown Magog, this enchanting spot nestled in nature is ideal for disconnecting, enjoying a relaxing massage, and unwinding in hot saunas.
Discover the charm of Lake Memphrémagog and its fall colours aboard the Grand Cru, Escapades Memphrémagog’s cruise boat, which sails until October. Whether it’s for cocktails, dinner, or brunch, you’re sure to enjoy an absolutely breathtaking experience.
